Arizona is set to welcome even more Brits to the state, with the announcement of an increased British Airways service into Phoenix for summer 2018.

Next year’s additional service adds to the introduction of a second flight three days a week between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and London Heathrow Airport.

Arizona State Parks and Trails, the agency that manages 32 parks, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, while the region is also gearing up for the 100th birthday of the Grand Canyon in 2019.

As one of the world’s most famous natural wonders, there are so many ways to experience the attraction’s magnificent natural landscape, from joining a Grand Canyon yoga class, white water rafting along the Colorado River or taking in the stars at the Grand Canyon Star Party, which takes place between  June 9-16 2018.

Visitors can also find out about Arizona’s two other national parks, Saguaro National Park and Petrified Forest National Park, as well as the state’s burgeoning food scene.

In fact, Tucson in southern Arizona holds the accolade of being named America’s first UNESCO City of Gastronomy, when it was given the title in December 2015.

New restaurants and dining options are continuing to pop up across the city and place Arizona firmly on the gastronomic traveller’s map.

The Sonoran Desert, the most bio-diverse desert in North America and home to the iconic Saguaro Cactus, is a brimming food bowl of natural ingredients, supplying Tucson and the wider state’s restaurants with an abundance of natural produce.

These include prickly pear fruit from the prickly pear cactus, which can be enjoyed as a jam, ice cream, preserve and most commonly in a margarita.

In addition to extra flights, 2018 is set for a number of exciting hotel openings. A Kimpton Hotel will open in downtown Tempe in 2018 bringing more accommodation to the vibrant university city, while the 200-room Ritz-Carlton Residences, Paradise Valley is set to open its doors in late 2018, with views of Camelback Mountain and offering a range of health and wellness programmes.
